I bought a Fenwick Eagle recently and I thought I could share some thoughts on the rod.

If you are a beginner to the world of fly fishing, this would be a good rod to choose, because it’s pretty easy to cast, and the rod doesn’t weigh that much. It’s exceptionally well made, and obviously very durable. Fenwick is well regarded in the world of Fly fishing, and that’s because their products are known to be reliable and efficient. So far my experience with the Fenwick Eagle supports that reputation, and I would definitely consider buying another Fenwick rod in the future. Even though this is a great rod for beginners, it’s also decent for more experienced fisherman and you’re not likely to outgrow it anytime soon.

It’s made out of graphite, which is a light composite material, and it’s incredibly durable and long-lasting, It’s not effected by the elements or temperature changes, so this rod could probably last you a lifetime.

The rod has a pretty good feel. I wouldn’t call it great, but it’s nice. A friend of mine has a more expensive rod, and it has a better flex and balance, but this rod is no slouch, and it wasn’t nearly as pricey. It’s especially good if you are going to be fishing in a creek or small river, because it’s perfect for close range casting. If you want to fish in a large lake, it may not be the ideal choice. The rod has a good sensitivity, and gives good feedback while you’re fishing. Overall I’m very happy with my Fenwick and it’s been a great value for the money.
